The July Society day, played on the 1st August, took place at Kirby Golf Course, a municipal course to the east of Liverpool, just off the M57.

The competition was our normal Individual Stapleford Competition for the NSPCC Trophy. This was a relatively high scoring day, with the results being very close as can be seen below. The overall results were as follows;-

1st   Phil Wright  41 points

2nd  James Arathoon 40 points

3rd   Peter Smythe 39 points

4th Ian Grierson  36 points

In the side comps;-

The Longest Drive was driven by Phil "The Fat Bas!!!d" Wright

who out drove every one else

and

The nearest Nearest-the-Pin ball was positioned by Steve Crayford

who out accuracised Peter Smythe

The Random Card draw was won by some one,

James made sure of his taxi ride home by getting a '2'

As this Competition was for the NSPCC Trophy there was a side entertainment of donating 50p to the charity every time you managed to hit a bunker. Due to the unnerving accuracy of some players a grand total of £13.50 was raised for this worth while charity - well done
